Queen Anne Vintage Burr Walnut Long Legged Bureau Writing Desk in Black

This gorgeous, stylish bureau with the distinctive curved and carved legs of the Queen Anne period has been handpainted in "Total Eclipse" black by Bunty’s and clear waxed, giving the piece a subtle lustre whilst protecting the paint.

The fall front and two main drawers have been fully stripped to display the stunning burr walnut, and lashings of Osmo oil in satin has been applied to really accentuate the grain.

Internally, the leather has been painted to complement the external colour, and the edges of the cubbyholes and small drawer painted to match. Brown wax, dark oil and salve have been used to restore the inside.

Soft gold wax highlights the striking original handles and adds to the glamorous finish.  New felt has been added to the tops of the pull out arms. A working key is supplied with a pretty beaded black tassel.

The sturdy drawers have solid wood bases and dovetail joints. The whole piece has been treated to a hemp base salve with a delicate citrus scent, which restores and revives the wood.

Perfect for the home office, or can be used as a dressing table using the hinged fall front.

N.B. There are a few minor imperfections internally due to age which are barely visible and in no way detract from its appeal.

Nationwide delivery is available.

We arrange delivery with one of our trusted furniture couriers - this will generally be a one-man service and help will be needed to unload the item at the buyer’s home.  If a two-man service is required there may be an extra charge. 

We charge a flat rate of £60 for delivery to mainland UK.  For Highlands, Islands and Ireland, please contact us for an accurate quote prior to purchase.

Collection is also welcome near Reading.  For smaller items we send via an insured postal courier.
